The Daily Commitments for the Friends Segment

Every day there is a second commitment sent out that is supposed to help focus the primary commitment. These secondary commitments are sent out on a weekly bases, and can be very powerful by themselves. This post has a list of each:

MONDAY

“Everyone needs good and true friends… Choose friends who share your values so you can strengthen and encourage each other in living high standards.” – For the Strength of Youth

I, ____________________, commit to striving to have friends who share my values.

TUESDAY

“To have good friends, be a good friend. Show genuine interest in others; smile and let them know you care about them.” – For the Strength of Youth

I, ____________________, commit to showing genuine interest in others today.

WEDNESDAY

“Treat everyone with kindness and respect” – For the Strength of Youth

I, ____________________, commit to treating everyone with kindness and respect today.

THURSDAY

“Refrain from judging and criticizing those around you. Do not participate in any form of bullying.” – For the Strength of Youth

I, ____________________, commit to not participating in any form of bullying today. I will also refrain from judging and criticizing those around me.

FRIDAY

“Invite your friends of other faiths to your Church meetings and activities. Help them feel welcome and included. Many people have joined the Church through the example and fellowship of their friends.” – For the Strength of Youth

Depending on your situation for today, do either of the following:

I, ____________________, commit to inviting a friend to a Church meeting or activity today.

Or

I, ____________________, commit to thinking of a friend now whom I will invite to a Church meeting or activity before next Sunday.

SATURDAY

“As you seek to be a friend to others, do not compromise your standards. If your friends urge you to do things that are wrong, be the one to stand for the right, even if you stand alone.” – For the Strength of Youth

I, ____________________, commit to stand for what’s right, even when friends are urging me to do otherwise.

SUNDAY

“As you strive to live the gospel, you will encourage your friends to do likewise. Set an example of keeping the commandment, participating in Church activities, preparing to serve the Lord throughout you life, and remaining worthy to attend the temple.” – For the Strength of Youth
