Congratulations! You’ve made it through the Service segment! The next segment will be starting later today when I send out the initiation email at 6:00 pm. The topic will be Sexual Purity and the segment will last for three weeks, until Sunday November 15th.
One thing that I will comment about the coming segment though: it is going to be frank. At times it is going to be bold. It is only going to refer to that which is on lds.org, but if you have a child under twelve this may be one that they should sit out for. If you are a child under twelve please ask your parents before continuing in this segment. I say twelve because that is the year youth in the church get the For the Strength of Youth pamphlet that this segment will be based off of. To clarify, this segment will not be crude. However, by necessity it will refer to things that are in the For the Strength of Youth pamphlet which you may not want your eight-year-old asking about yet.
Back to concluding the segment, one more thing before you let this topic rest: ask yourself “How have I been blessed by living this standard?” Write what you think of down. It can be a specific instance, a favorite quote, a feeling, a thought, whatever it is, write it down. I find it helps me to put the hard work into perspective, seeing how much it has helped.
To conclude this segment, I have, as always, a final quote. To be honest, this was the hardest one by far to choose, there were the many fantastic quotes I wanted to end on. However, after looking over my options several times, I believe that President Monson said it best in his talk Choose You This Day:
“May I leave with you today a simple yet far-reaching formula to guide you in the choices of life:
“Fill your minds with truth.
“Fill your hearts with love.
“Fill your lives with service.”
