I, ____________________, commit to living the Lord’s standards for dating word for word as written in For the Strength of Youth until February 15th.
“Young men generally take the initiative in asking for and planning dates. Always be kind and respectful when you ask for a date or when you accept or decline one.” – For the Strength of Youth
I, ____________________, commit to being kind and respectful as I ask for, accept, or decline a date.
I, ____________________, commit to teaching my children to be kind and respectful as they ask for, accept, or decline a date.
“It may seem a long way off now, but marriage is one of the most important decisions of your life. Your teenage years are not the time to make that decision, but proper dating will help you prepare to make that decision when it is appropriate. Dating will give you opportunities to develop social skills that will help you become confident and attractive to [those] you date. You’ll come to understand and be attracted to those with the qualities and characteristics that will be important to you in an eternal companion. Proper dating will also help you be worthy and prepared to marry in the temple for time and all eternity the right person at the right time.” – To the Young Men on Dating by the Young Men General Presidency, emphasis added.
